10 Great Anime movies that you MUST watch!! part 1
1. Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira (1988)A must see anime classic! I remember watching it for the first time (Thought i haven't seen the full movie yet T-T) i always started watching it when the one guy was in the water yelling at people! it was awesome!! the story includes rival motor bike gangs, genetically enhansed kids, and most importantly to me, GORE! When this movie first came out it blew peoples minds away, for what most people watched are saturday morning cartoons like "Speed racer" and such and when Akira came out, it shocked people! if you didn't have Akira translated into English and playing in theaters, then you wouldn't have had anime's like "FMA" and "Naruto" on your TV (Or whatever the hell you people watch nowdays...) 2. Mamoru Oshii's Ghost in the Shell (1995) these are one of the most influential movies of all time!!! the movies are not only EPIC but they influenced movies like the matrix series! and opened up a whole new meaning to Anime sci-fi. 3. Satoshi Kon's Perfect blue (1997) the story of a Pop-idol turned actress now is stalked by an obsessive fanatic. Originally was ment to be a TV drama or a movie, or both perhaps... But the project was canceled due to an earthquake in 1995 taking place in the city of "Kobe." At first the movie script seamed to be of a well done J-Horror movie, but with Kon's talent, it became someting they could only describe in an animated feature. (So they did!!) one of my favorite sceenes is the ending, where everything is brought out into the light. and you find out who really is the stalker! 4. Katsuhiro Otomo's Memories (1995) (Does this guy ever rest?) this is one i actually saw and really liked!! And he really did number the episodes well! cause the 1st one was amaizing!! the last one sucked ass... (I'M SORRY BUT I HATED IT!! IT'S LIKE WATCHING HITLER GROWING UP FOR ME! It's' B-O-R-I-N-G) all are based on his short manga stories Memories is an anthology of 3 films. titled "Magnetic rose" "Stink bomb" and "Cannon fodder" (Sucked ass!!!) all the styles are quite diverse and the themes are very different from one another, not to mention the styles!! i found "Magnetic Rose" to be the most beautiful! it is a must have!! go buy it!! now!!! before i killz you!!! 5. Hayao Miyazaki's Mononoke Hime I LOVE MOMONOKE HIME!! anything Miyazaki-sama does is epic and beautiful and visually stuning!! i'ma huuuuuge fan of this particular film! featuring, enormus wolves and forest creatures, an evil female villan and forest demons! Set in medieval Japan, Miyazaki's original story envisions a struggle between nature and man. The march of technology, embodied in the dark iron forges of the ambitious Tatara clan, threatens the natural forces explicit in the benevolent Great God of the Forest and the wide-eyed, spectral spirits he protects. When Ashitaka, a young warrior from a remote, and endangered, village clan, kills a ravenous, boar-like monster, he discovers the beast is in fact an infectious "demon god," transformed by human anger. Ashitaka's quest to solve the beast's fatal curse brings him into the midst of human political intrigues as well as the more crucial battle between man and nature. anything Miyazak-sama does is epic! i wouldn't say that this film is for little kids or is it strictly for adults or older teens, it's a movie anyone can watch, from the age of 0-1000 if you'd like... again a must have! |
